Brian Summerall

Director of the Tod Bush Leadership Center

Brian Summerall, Director of the Tod Bush Leadership Center, has a long history with Young Life (35 years on staff) and a deep passion for the impact that this ministry has on young people around the world. He has been in direct ministry as well as training and strategic planning roles since 1987. He most recently served as Young Life’s Director of Ministry Strategy, helping Young Life areas around the world reach more kids.

Having attended Dallas Theological Seminary combined with a Film degree from Baylor University, Brian has a passion for speaking, teaching, writing, and marketing. In 2018, Brian became a Certified StoryBrand Guide and Copywriter (www.storybrand.com), helping companies, non-profits, and ministries clarify their messaging using the elements of story.

Passionate about sharing his experience and knowledge with others, Brian often speaks at Churches, Young Life events around the country, summer camps, committee trainings, and leadership development conferences. His book, “Telling Stories: God’s Grace Revealed Through Adventures, Awkwardness, and a 1981 Monte Carlo” was released in late 2019 and is available on Amazon.

Brian loves his Baylor Bears and Texas Rangers and also spends his free time worrying his forehead is getting big enough one day to sell advertising space on. He lives in Dallas with his wife, Michele, his two sons, David and Daniel, and his beloved chihuahua, Annie.
